Welcome to the Board Deeann!!! So wonderful to see folks on the forum who live in the Domincian, it is just one more link for those of us who can't be in paradise all year! Keep in touch won't you!!!!!  For starters could you supply us with some information on the hotel you own, price etc. how do we book etc. and if you have a link for your hotel, please let us post it for you. The Tropix is right up the street from the police station. I have 6 single rooms with a double or queen size bed and a twin size bed. the rate is $60.00 US+tax per night. 4 two bedroom suites that can sleep 5. They are airconditioned, with ceiling fan, refridgerator, and safe. the rate is $75.00+tax per night. Breakfast is served daily at poolside at a nominal charge, including Juan's world famous pancakes. There is a small bar loaded with cold Presedentes, cokes, seven up, and water. And ofcourse coffee first thing in the morning. It is on the honor system, take what you want mark it down on a card and pay when you checkout. The tropical gardens are some of the best in Sosua. It is a quiet oasis from all of the noise of the hiway, the discos and traffic. It is a 5 minute walk to anywhere in town or the beaches. I hope this helps, Deeann

;D Hi Gang, Well am back home and finally have a computer that works. I have been with my dad for about two weeks while he was recovering from surgery. Have just about had enough of being a nurse, ugh. Hi sara nice to meet you, where did you stay while you were in the DR. I hear ya regarding the weather, out here on the prairies, it has rained for two weeks, crops are under water and now we needddddddd heat. looks like rice paddies out here. lol So gooooooooooooooood to be back, so come on gang, am in the need for lots of gossip, whats been happening?  coppersun

Hola...Greg and I are regulary Sosuaites! We count down to the next trip a year in advance! We are from the Great White North - Calgary and look forward February of each year for the palm trees, drinks, beaches and good friends! Checkpoint has become a regualr stop for us every beach day and Colleen and Mark are wonderful hosts! We miss you all and can hardly wait for our return in 245 days!!

Hi Coleen and Mark, This is Pat from Regina,(Im the one who asked about the margarine and eggs) we were there last year in January. Just wanted to let you know that we will be back again in January 2007, We arrive on the 9th and leave on the 30th.
We are the ones that stay in Cabarete at Palm Beach Condos, but we will make it to Check Point at least a couple of times.
Enjoyed meeting you and Mark.
Have a great summer and will see you soon.
