Howdy, Our names are Mac & Cyndy and we live in Otter Point, B.C. Otter Point is 10K west of Sooke and Sooke is 40K west of Victoria and we overlook the Strait of Juan De Fuca. We have the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State on the other side and have cruise ships and pods of Orca Whales passing all the time. We have been retired for three years. Me from the Navy and Cyndy was a 911 operator. We are now in the traveling mode. I have seen most of the world but Cyndy is a newbee traveler and I have been able to get her out of the "white knuckle" flyer mode. She now hardly ever draws blood when she digs her nails into my arm during takeoffs and landings. So far we have been to Hawaii, Japan, Guam, Hong Kong, Bali, Mexico, Florida and cruises to Alaska and Mexico. Next month we will be trying the DR spending one week at Bahia Principe Rio San Juan (BPRSJ) and one week at the Iberostar Costa Dorada (ICD). (notice how many trip reports we have read). Of course we will be stopping in at the CHECKPOINT to drop off stuff for Sosua Kids and try the world famous hamburgers. Hope to hear from everyone. Get on board and send a HOWDY. Mac & Cyndy

You know what funny to me...I was thinking, I jumped right in and never introduced myself to everyone. Here goes, My name is Sharon and the nick name I choosed is the name of my daughter, which is 8 months old. She take most of my time and energy right now. What brought me to this forum? Well, I was on debbies forums and was reading some of them and ran accross Colleen link to her page. Read her page, which brings me here. So we are plan on coming to DR in the spring next year and can't wait...haven't been abroad since 1999. Sitting on the beach, sipping a cocktail, sounds very appealing right about now. I hope to meet lots of new and interesting people. Sharon

:)Hola! I guess I should introduce myself, I think I will be a regular poster on here My name is kristyn, livining in Winnipeg, manitoba, canada. im in 3rd university taking Admin. Studies (I think ) haha. In Feb of 2005, myself, laura, and another friend went down to the Mayan Riveria for a week, had the time of our lives and got addicted to travelling. Before we left Mexico, we knew we were going to explore different areas and decided on Dominican. With all of our stories and excitement upon return of Mexico, we recruited 11 others for this trip! what a trip it will be, im sure to leave my mark in Dominican! ;D I hope one day to travel all over, right now my student budget doesn't allow me to...one day I say The resort in Mexico was absolutly awesome! Laura and I also post on www.texaspepper.net under the Club Maeva Tulum Forum. Our pics are on the photo page. We sign off as the TPBB..aka..TexasPepper Board Babes Nice to meet everyone, this forum will be a big help to us! Kristyn

Hi all, Gregg from Dartmouth, NS here. My wife Giselle and I have been many times to many resorts on the North Coast and we are starting to spread out to Punta Cana on alternate trips. We usually get to the DR twice a year and in between I spend a fair bit of time helping fellow travellers on boards like this. I act as a Moderator/Administrator at Debbie's Dominican Travel Forums debsdrtravels.proboards47.com ; Moderator/Director at Rusty's "Unofficial Riu Website Discussion Board riubambu.com/phpBB2/index.php and I am designated as a "Local Expert" for the DR by TripAdvisor www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g147288-i27-Dominican_Republic.htmlIf I can help, leave a message or track me down at one of those boards.

Hi, My name is Bernard and my wife is Pam. We live in Raymore Saskatchewan, Canada. Raymore is 1 hour straight north of Regina. We have been going to the Dominican Republic since 1992. We have stayed at several different resorts and all have a lot to offer. We spend very little time at the resorts as the country is so beautiful and full of happy people. There is so much to see and do. We have met lots of interesting folks every time we are there. We have several good friends in Sosua and keep in touch with them. We usally are in Sosua or Cabarete in late Jan. or early Feb.. Our goal is to retire in the Dominican Republic in the very near future.
