LMAO- we listened to the first exhibition game on the radio over the internet- while I will admit we shouldn't have lost (wish we coulda seen the brawls), the Oilers won it fair and square....THIS TIME (!)

I just joined and wanted to introduce myself on the General Board but the reply button does not appear on that board. I get a new thread but no reply.
Since I am on this thread, don't worry Mark. Marcus, Bert and the boys will come through for us. They are saving their efforts for the reg season. Who cares about the pre-season.

Nope! That was the last game of the pre-season. Their first game is 5 Oct, 7PM Pacific, against the Pheonix Cayotes with their rookie manager, Wayne Gretksy at the helm. You should be able to catch it on the net by logging into CKNW 980 AM. Mac

God help me...now that we have moved back into a Studio Apartment, will have to get Marky a headset for the computer so he can listen to CKNW while I watch the boob tube- while I AM an avid Canuckleheads fan, I just can't listen to them ALL!!! Thanks for the info, Mac- Marky'll be real happy there's a game on on the 5th. P.S. Checkpoint Customers.....you may notice Mark is looking a tad tired some mornings this winter- if the games are on PST and run into overtime, he'll be up till 3 AM!!!  |

Well Mark, the Canucks won their first game last night but id did not seem to be that they did it in convincing fashion. The finish still is not there and if it wasn't for Naslund's two breakaways it seemed to be pretty even. Cloutier let in a couple of softies. Next game is Saturday vs. the Oilers. Should be a better test. Mac

Ashley's proud of her Oilers, I on the other hand feel the Canucks lost do to the stupid new rules, and an especially stupid new shoot-out format. Grinding away 4 on 4 in overtime is one thing, but to have it all decided by a goofy break away contest is a joke. Go Canucks Go!!!

Just got home from doing the TURKEY TROT at our best friends house. Most of the people there were Albertans but the southern kind who kind of root for the Flamers. Anyway, I was so pissed off. When was the last time that you saw a delay of game penalty by other than a goalie in the last minute of a game? ? I can't remember one. If that was a call against the Leafs or the Rangers then the whole Hockey world would have been up in arms.. But since it was against the Canucks No Big Deal. It's just the same as Calgary kicking in the winning goal a few years ago. Where did Nonis come from anyway??? Even his name sounds queer. |
