OK, have to get some sympathy from you folks enjoying decent temps. It's been in the -30s and -40s Celsius for over a week. It's so cold the dog goes outside for a whopping two minutes to do his business. Long underwear is a definite must this time of year. We are hoping to stay in the DR for a few weeks in January 2009. Hate being cooped up for weeks at a time. Let's hope WestJet continues to fly to POP regularly. How I'd love to get on a plane right now back to the DR!!!

I hear you koolkat. It is minus 37 with the wind chill as I type this before heading off to work. Damn that lottery! I would rather stay home. I hate complaining about winter, but I do anyway. If we would only get some sunshine once in a while, it might make us think it's warmer out than it really is! Stay warm and keep dreaming of Sosua, that is what gets me thru all of this!

You know, my other half and I were talking about that today. There are so many deals it would be awesome to get outta here for a week next month. Don't know if the budget will allow for a quickie trip. Still figuring out the tax stuff. February seems to be THE month for alot of you folks heading to the DR. Maybe we should re-think our travel dates. Winters are so long and cold it makes me miserable!

yep I personnally HATE snow and cold, you really don't want to be around me if I can't get that break away.
There are some awesome deals, especially the expedia, com, or sell off vacations.com or red tag.com ones> It always makes me mad when I get home and see the trip I take for one half the cost. ugggggggghhhhh.
Hope to see you there! coppersun

Another one to try is vacgo.ca for last minute or close to last minute deals.
Hey Copper, even though you might get home and see one was cheaper, I bet you still enjoy/enjoyed your vacation. Anytime in the DR is a good time.

I'm with you kris, this IS not fun anymore, but due to the fact that my lottery win hasn't happened yet, I guess I'll have to live through it. Was really glad that I wasn't leaving today, because I wouldn't have! There were no flights taking off or landing in Saskatchewan today because of blizzard conditions. How would that suck? You wait all year for your vacation, and you miss a day due to this cr@p.

Well, my car went this morning really good as it was plugged in, IN THE GARAGE. Just went out at my lunch break to start him and he said uh-uh, not doin it, so now I will be stuck here at work much longer than I would have liked. Hubby likely won't be too pleased either when he receives the message at work that he needs to come rescue me and Rex on his way home. Oh well, at least I wasn't leaving today on a plane, cause if it is minus 30 or more they won't fly and I wouldn't be going today either. mp
