ODE TO CHECKPOINT

This awesome poem was given to Brooke to pass on on Wayne and Bonnie's last night of their trip in Sosua. It made me very misty-eyed and we will always remember them and the footprints they left on OUR hearts...we HAD to share this with all you other Checkpoint Junkies:

We came to Checkpoint,
Our favorite Joint!
Every night was a BLAST
But time went too fast...

Brooke was fun and upbeat
We thought she was sweet.
Most days we'd arrive, and run into Clive...
No matter how drunk, he gave us no jive!

Pam is his wife
Oh how she loves life-
Met patrons galore,
Not one was a bore...

But our favorites by far
Are the owners of the bar
They're Mark and Colleen
If you've met them you know what we mean.

Mark's fun, full of life-
Let us tell you about his wife
She has glitter and smart,
She gave us her HEART

Can't wait 'till next year
For more Checkpoint CHEER!

Bonnie and Wayne it was so nice to meet you guys! I told you I would get that poem to Mark and Colleen...who would surely post it on the internet!

But they were such sweet words and they deserved to be seen by others. Thank you again and we can't wait to see you guys around the barstools soon. The rum and diet cokes and red wine will be waiting for you!
