Hello everybody my names Bob and my lovely wife is Heather .We live in Fredericton
New Brunswick Canada .We fell in love with the Dominican when we got married in Punta Cana in feb 2003 .It was our first trip to the Caribbean and the beginning of a love for the island .We will be coming to Puerto Plata from march 30th to April 6th staying at the Fun Tropical .We plan bring donations for the Sosua kids and want to stop by the Checkpoint for a visit .I have a couple of questions.(1)How much for a taxi from the Playa Darada complex to the checkpoint ?(2) Since this will be Holy Week will checkpoint bar be closed for the holiday ?

Just in case Colleen forgets to mention it when you call about the taxi I can confirm that Checkpoint will NOT be closed and you guys will be welcomed on any day at any time [till closing - which can be anything from 10pm - 2am depending on volume of business etc]

would it be a local call or long distance from thr resort to the checkpoint and what would be a ball park price for a taxi from the resort to sosua $us.
