Hello, this will be our first visit and need a little information. We will be there the week of Feb.26th(our anniversary)-Mar.5th. Any suggestions for a nice place for a special dinner?[/b] First of all, we will be stopping by your place for some refreshments. Everything I have read about Checkpoint has been good. With that said, here come the questions.
1. How much does it cost for a cab from the airport to Sosua by the Sea hotel?
2. We want to go to Santiago for a day trip and visit some of the Cigar factories, what would be the best way to do that and how much will it cost.
3. Any other information you give a us on our virgin visit will be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to exploring your piece of paradise and the beautiful people.
All comments are welcome, good, bad, or otherwise.
Until then, enjoy and I look forward to your responses.
Robert & Nadeene

Hola! We booked our tour of Santiago/Jarabacoa and the cigar factory through Linda at Mel' Tour, right across from Checkpoint. She can fill you in on specific tours of Santiago. I wrote a travel report of our recent trip to Sosua www.atomiczombie.com/travelreport.htm . Sosua by the Sea is just a 5 minute walk from Casa Marina where we stayed. I'm not sure of cost of cab from the airport as our trips include transportation in the cost. I've seen some posts on other forums that it costs $25-$30 US each way from Puerto Plata airport to Sosua. You will have a fabulous time in Sosua!

Hi Kangolga
A couple of very good places to eat on your anniversary are:
La Finca, just a short walk from Casa Marina
Morua Mai, near to Checkpoint

Thanks Spanky,
We will be there in four days. I have been reading so much about Sosua that we are already planning our second trip so we can see more of the island. This visit will be for a week, but out next one will be for two weeks, so we can take our time and visit other parts of the island.
Thanks again and I will look for it, Robert
