It's hard to believe we've been back for a week ... after today's shift, I'll have already worked 60 hours since leaving Sosua last Saturday ... life sure is different when not on vacation!
We had 2 great weeks in Sosua ... we dropped by Checkpoint 12 of the 14 days we were there (Checkpoint was closed the other 2 days, haha) ... talk about a great spot with fantastic staff and customers!
49 weeks to go (at least we have a week in Cuba to hold us until next Sept)

Wayne and Bonnie- we miss you badly! I was upset that we couldn't meet you on your last night- but so glas we saw you the night before that. Thanks for leaving me your glitter tanning gel- it is sooo pretty! I can't wait to use it!
I hope you are wearing your Larimar heart, Bonnie- have Wayne take a picture of you with it on and I will post it on the website!
The poem you wrote us was amazing...not sure if we have ever had an "Ode to Checkpoint" dedicated to us before...I am going to post it here! We love and miss you!

Welcome to the forum. Great Poem, you guys sure summed up what we all know and feel. Bravo!!
Look forward to chatting with you here on the forum. We too will be in Sosua in September so maybe next year our time in Paradise will overlap and we can hang at Checkpoint for a few.
I know Febuary is going to be a busy month for forum members and I look forward to meeting a few.

Thank you and HOLA to you too! It's hard for me to get on here alot because I am working my butt off to get the money to come back to D.R. but I do pop in time to time and check things out! Everyone seems really nice! It's nice to come to a place with no drama!

What a great poem, Bonnie and Wayne! My sentiments exactly - mind you, I am a little biased. Coll is my most favourite daughter in the world and Marky, well he's just the best and most favourite son-in-law in the world. Yeah, yeah Marky - I know. You're the ONLY son-in-law I have!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ::)And yeah, yeah Coll is the only daughter I have. There there is her brother Shawn who just happens to be my most favourite son in the world. Needless to say, he's married to Ashley who, you guessed it is the most favourite daughter-in-law in the world. Ain't it grand that there are only two kids and two in-laws?  ?? This could go on forever ad nauseum! Anyway, Checkpoint is rather a special place and a great place to hang out. I look forward to doing my share just a little less than two months from now. |
