Well as frequent flyer, I am always looking. But never seem to get it right. We have gotten sales but only if I'm looking to say what the hey "I'm going" whenever I try ro plan something loosley but wait for the sale it never comes.
What do you guys do?? Book way in adavance or hang tight?
Ps... we don't do the all inclusive thing unless it is like $ 10 more than the flight it self.

hi robyne, i usually have a date in the back of my mind and go from there. i was in sosua in feb for 2 weeks and when i was coming home i knew we were returning around the end of may for 2 weeks, so while i was looking (everyday) i came across a 1 week flight for $99 plus taxes(ofcourse) for the end of march. found it on a fri left that monday, it was fun!!even had no accomodations , made some quick calls, no probs. but i know what you mean this flight business drives me up the wall!! sometimes i would even go for a long weekend but we dont seem to have flight deals for weekends. i live in Ottawa and can very easily leave from 3 major airports ....but still nothing. let me know if you ever come up with something good, Brenda

Hi guys,
First of all I live in Saskatchewan in a city that is three hours from Saskatoon or Edmonton Airport. Which really sucks, as we cannot access direct flights to the DR unless we travel to Toronto or Ottawa first. Now don't get me wrong here, I love Ottawa and have been there many times, but the cost of a flight to either centre is the same cost from Ottawa to the DR. Man oooh Man!!!
Right now we are trying to get flights out of Edmonton to go to the DR at the end of the month. But again as the charters don't fly out of these centers until October we are going to get dinged for a in country flight, so our cost is going to be $1,800 each dam it makes me mad.
We can get all kinds of flights after October and it costs us about 700 ro 800 to the DR each.
Go figure!!!!
Anyway we have done the all inclusive and are ok with them, we have found that the four and five stars are not worth the money, and we tell people that take the stars listed and cut them in half and that is usually pretty close to what the accomodations are in the DR. We now stay in the 2 or three star ones, cheaper, just as nice and as long as the room is clean that is all we ask.
As we get braver and braver with more stays we tour the country by ourselves. This year we are staying right in Sousa and are so looking forward to it. We are really excited as we have two other couples joining us this year. Can hardly wait.
We have looked at the sales but as I am not a pay over the computer kinda gal ( sorry trust issues with my credit cards) however we find a trip and take it down to our travel agent, and as long as I pay her the agent fees she gives us the trip for the listed price. Usually between 40 to 60 dollars.
We also have done the fly in 24 hour thing and its a blast. so either way its great to get away and especially if it involved the DR. However we also fly to Myrtle Beach like that as well.

oh you are soooooooooo right about Ottawa, ive never left from here. always Toronto, or Montreal. and if it is off season there isnt even anything out of Ottawa to puerto plata
