Hi Guys
New boy in town we are coming to the dr for the first time in aug/08 and i cant wait iv already saved 120 pens and pencils for the children would like to know which is he best safari to go on monster truck safari or outback safari ? or if there are any more good trips to go on we are staying in the casa marina beach

Hi Becks!

Wow you rock, the kids will love the stuff! The Casa Marina is wonderful. Clean, beautiful and great food. The resort is located just on the outskirts of Sosua and you can walk everywhere. The Checkpoint is about a five minute walk from the resort. Make sure you pop in and say hi to Spanky and the gang! Also check out the LONGGGGGGGggggg beach shopping just down the stairs from the Checkpoint.
If you are wanting any side trips or excusions just ask Linda from Mels Tours ( located right beside the Checkpoint) she can set you up. She is terrific!

becks7, you will love Casa Marina, that is where we always stay when we are there. If you want any specific info on the resort, we kind of consider ourselves officianados on the resort (lol) just ask. We will be going again in May.

Hey missingdr. We stayed at Casa Marina over a year ago during Christmas & New Years, but it got crazy, busy and loud. We did like the resort overall, and would consider going again if the price is right.

Have you been there before in May? What are the crowds like?

We are hoping to avoid busy times of the year, if possible.

We want to go back to Sosua, but it will probably be cheaper to do the AI thing again, and Casa Marina still has good packages.

Well when we went last May, the crowds were not that bad. we got a good spot at the jacuzzi,(but we always go early in the morning), you had your choice of seats at the shows, there were a lot of people, but not overly crowded like in July, August and over Christmas time. The time I noticed it wasn't really busy was after US thanksgiving, I really enjoyed that time.
We are going to go back again in May this year.

Thanks. I think we'll be heading to Cabarete this time 'round. Just have to figure out the personal income tax stuff first. Can't stand this time of year! Frigid temps and tax season. Ugh.
