Hi guys! Our trips is quickly approaching..FINALLY!
I just have a few questions...
We are going on the outback safari tour (have heard rave reviews over it) and we are able to hand out candies/gifts to the children we meet. My question is, how many kids do we prepare for? 10, 20, 30? Since there is 11 of us going, we are all pitching in $5-10 to get some hard candy, and dollar store stuff.
I personally plan on giving a cash donation for sosua kids (is that ok? Colleen, can I just give it to you?) Our suitcases only hold so much!
thanks kristyn

Hey Kristyn! Little toys are the best thing to pass out- everyone brings candies to throw, and no one offers to come back the next year and pay for the dentist, LOL. But seriously- they get so much candy, put together a few "gift bags" with toothbrush and paste, a toy, baseballs, hair thingyies for the girls, etc. Even socks and underwear are great...and thanks for the mention of a monetary donation for Sosua Kids. We are doing a collection drive right now- Give your heart to Sosua Kids...you "buy a heart" for a hundred pesos and we stick it up on the pillars around our bar with your name and where you are from or your personal message- started yesterday and will continue until Valentine's Day- hope we raise a bundle!!! See you soon! Colleen

Thanks colleen!
I was thinking of putting little gift bags together, so that is what we will do.
How many bags tho? 5-10? I don't want to have any kids left out on the outback safari
I never really thought about the dentist factor...makes a lot of sense tho.
9 days!!! ;D

Hey Kristyn! How many? That is up to you...remember you can only make a difference one body at a time...and you can't help the whole country in one fell swoop...that in mind, do whats easiest on the pocketbook- if you can do 5 or 10 be happy with that- if you can do more, even better. If you can make one kid smile - that's great. FYI We are selling hearts at Checkpoint until Feb 14th...it's the "Give your Heart to Sosua Kids" Campaign. We hope to have hearts plastered all over the bar by the time you arrive! See you sooooon! Colleen
