August/sept weather ?

Hi All, was wondering if those who live out there or have been there in august/sept can tell me what weather i can expect, i know is hurricane season but i guess that don't mean you get em every august/sept or do you ? it don't worry me as i got athing about em lol but just wanted to ask, also we normally go to the canary islands can anyone compare the heat to the DR. will i get a tan asgood as i getin the canary islands lol ;D

regarding hurricanes, how much warning do they give you and is it the hotel that keeps you updated

Hi Tone,
I have not been there in August or Sept, however in speaking with those who do go, the weather is very hot and humid at that time of the year.
You will able to get a really great tan any time of the year that you travel to the DR.

There is really no way of telling which year will be bad for hurricanes although the tropical rain storms are terrific. This year they got nailed with a couple of tropical storms. The resorts are very good about keeping you informed. The best is to keep updated with websites etc.
