Any forums that pertain to Cabarete (such as this one), or is it OK to discuss here?
Thanks, Cat

A good place to buy Gold jewellery is Momma Rosa's in Cabarete. located on main street, you can't miss it.

Is Momma Rosa's reasonable? Is it as expensive as Harrisons and is it good quality ?

It depends on what you are wanting to buy, we had a gold sun ( my signature teehee) made with a peice of amber in the middle. My girlfriend had one made the year before and she charged us the same price. These peices were hand made and they were what we expected to pay. The gold is only 10K and when I had it appraised at home it is exactly that. So I guess in answer to your question yes she is reasonable but she does like to barter, but she is an intelligent woman and has made a good living selling her jewellery. Harrisons is really expensive, but you do get some nice stuff, Momma Rosa is more reasonable.

Okay thanks, I went to a jewellry store in Sosua and I was looking for a charm of DR for my bracelet and they were charging $100 US for this charm (10K) I thought was a little pricey. I can get a Canadian flag charm, the same size for $40 cdn. here at home.
So what I am asking is Momma Rosa's more reasonable than the $100 charm.

Yes I would say so. however if you are looking for a silver charm, then I would go to Patrick's silversmithy in Sosua, just down the block from the Checkpoint, he has wonderful silver. and great prices!

Thanks, I prefer gold. I will check out Patrick's for gifts though and is there some sort of liquidation center in Cabarate or Flea market ?

Lots of development still going on in Cabarete? Heard there were some slowdowns.
