I wonder how many people realize how truly WONDERFUL our Pam and Spanky are? Do you know how they have blessed our lives since we first met them? They are true examples of unconditional love and we are so very grateful to have them in our lives as part of our family. Today marks a special day in their lives as they bid farewell to Checkpoint and begin a whole new adventure. Retirement? Not on your life! If you didn't attend their farewell party tonight at Checkpoint - we couldn't, sadly - take the time to look them up and thank them for doing such a wonderful job of managing Checkpoint for Colleen all these months when it was not possible for her to look after her business. Spanky has been a ROCK and has done a truly remarkable job of taking special care of Colleen's affairs. Spanks and Pam - how we wish we could have been there tonight! How wonderful it would have been to share in the festivities. No one, and I repeat, no one could or would have looked after Checkpoint as lovingly as you have. We are so proud and happy to know that you will now have your own lives back!! Bless you for managing Checkpoint so well - you did it just as Mark and Colleen would have. Mark would have been lifting his glass in your honour tonight, in gratitude and in love. You can be assured that Colleen and I did!!!! We'll be looking forward to hearing all about your future plans very soon. Checkpoint has been a special place for all of us and we hope that Peter is able to maintain the friendly and first class service that Mark and Colleen and you were so famous for. We love you and wish you well!!! Carolyn and Colleen (and Princess, of course!)

Ok now its my turn!
Spanks: I find myself at a loss for words to tell you what I want to convey. How do you thank a guy for just being you? For stepping in and doing what you did. For putting all others ahead of yourself, for just being you and doing a wonderful job. I know you learnt from the best but you are dam right Mark would be toasting you and wrapping his arms around you and saying, "Thank you my brother, for everything" I can hear him saying exactly that, and you know what Spanky he is right. I know he was your collegue, mentor and friend, but you will always be part of his family and ours. You have done him proud, hell you did yourself proud. WELL DONE LAD WELL DONE!!
Pam: lady how can I tell you how much I love you! To stand beside your man, prop him up when he needed it, to remain true to yourself and yet put his needs before yours... there just isn't enough words to tell you how much I respect you and love you!
I know its been a long time in coming, somedays must have felt like years, some days I am sure you just wanted to throw up your hands and say the hell with it. But you didn't, you stood your ground and did what you needed to do. You will never have to second quess whether or not you did your best, we all know you did and went even further!!!! I am so proud of you both!
Alf and I are so blessed to have you in our family! we love you both deeply and dearly, hehehehe and now you won't be able to get rid of us!!!!!! You are ours forever. Now get your butts here!!!!!
Pam and Clive, I lift up my glass to you both, and cheer and yell and scream," GOD BLESS YOU BOTH- WELL DONE" We love you!

Thank you Spanky and Pam for everything you did to help Colleen through this most difficult time in her life. I met so many people at Checkpoint, I am not sure if I have met you or not but I feel that I know you. Again thank you for all that you did and good luck with whatever you decide to do in the future.

Oh my gosh. We go away for a week, come back and find out that Spanky and Pam will not be at Checkpoint anymore. I knew it was coming but boy it is still a shock. It was bad enough to have to come back to all this snow let alone hear that the only thing that was keeping Checkpoint going (Spanky and Pam) were leaving. Without Mark, Colleen, Spanky and Pam, there will be no more Checkpoint. Oh the name might be there, but the friends, the fun, the laughter and definitely the love we found there will not be.How I wish I could be there tonight to express to you both how many people love you guys so much. Spanks you always have a smile on your face and loved seeing you behind the bar singing away and just having a great time. I feel sorry for the people who did not get the opportunity to get to know you and Pam, we were one of the lucky ones. We are blessed having Colleen, Carolyn, (even Princess), and you Spanks and Pam and of course the best couple around Kris and Alf as our friends. I think (no, I know) Mark is looking over all of us and there is a smile on his face knowing that the friendships we have made with you all, will be life long ones. We know we will meet again as you do not meet people like Mark, Colleen, Spanks, Pam, Kris and Alf and ever, ever forget them. All our love Spanky and Pam and may God Bless you both as we have been blessed to be your friends. Lots, lots, lots and lots of hugs and kisses. P.S. Spanks, don't forget your "Woolies."

UPDATE: I just heard from Clive and Pam and Bobby, they are in the United Kingdom visiting friends and family. Having a great time see folks, however its a little chilly. LOL actually Clive said it was "BLOODY COLD". Now I ask who was climatized!?!?! lol Anyway after they finish in the UK they are going back to the DR for a little bit to finish up things there and then will be arriving at our home in Saskatchewan, (and they think the UK is cold- ROFLMAO) where they will be looking forward to the future and perhaps finding jobs here. We are still going through the process of getting them working visas, so if anyone has any hints on how to get this process done faster ( dam red tape) let me know. I would invite anyone in the area to come and visit them while they are here!!!!! ;D ;D

Glad to hear our Spanks and Pam are doing well and enjoying themselves and catching up with friends and family.
I hope he remembered to take his "woolies" to the UK as it sure sounds like he could use them.
Kris, if you hear back from them, please say Hi to them for us.
Hope the red tape does not take too long.
