Well I think summer has officialy arrived here in Baker Lake Nunavut. It is a balm 16 Celcius today, and while there is still some snow on the horizen and a few chunks of ice floating in the lake, the Mosquitos are here. So it must be summer. Happy Day !!

Happy summer Robyne. We here on the rock have similar signs of summer, we have the ice bergs floating around the island and the mozzies have been here for a while. The first real sign of spring is the caplin rush that brings the hump back whales. If I knew how to post pictures I would show you what an area of beach about half an hour from my house looked like last week. The caplin came in and the whales followed, you could see the caplin jumping into the air all around the whales, truly a beautiful sight.

Well! Think I could handle looking at pictures of ice in the lake! A balmy 35+ here on the Island. Almost seems like the DR! Now, if I only had the pool and unlimited cervezas! Fortunately I am working a lot this week in an air conditioned setting! I must be crazy.
PS-Only kidding about the ice in the lake. I will take this anytime over snow!

Hola from Northwestern Ontario. It's been hot and humid, then days of rain, then so cold you have to wear a jacket and pants, then lots of storms, tornado warnings and yesterday, hail! It has been very interesting this summer. Took pictures of yesterday's storm. www.atomiczombie.com/info.htm

Wow Kool, that looks like some mean weather you are having! Our weather is wonderful right now. The hubby and I went to a Trooper ( ya I know we are old rockers at heart) concert the other night and met our Travel agent, he asked if this weather was like the DR ( it was 10 at night and still 29 degrees) Alf said sure is but we need a pool or ocean to hop into. lol
I sure hope that it stays this way for a while. It is funny as was stated the other day, WOW we pay good bucks for this heat in the winter.

Spoke way to soon! Back to miserable and grey here on the Island. Lots and lots of rain tonight. The fireworks that were scheduled for this evening cancelled. Bathtub weekend and no end to the rain.

Here on the rock the weekend has been hot and muggy. It would be enjoyable if it wasn't blowing a gale out there. I have blocks keeping all my doors open so they don't slam shut. Yesterday the wind literally blew my sheers right off my dining room window.

Yuck!!!! September the 12 we had snow flakes in the air, good thing the little buggers melted before they hit the ground or I would have had to go out and stamp on em so they wouldn't spread. lol

That's not good at all Copper
We heard tonight that it is only 35 degrees in Calgary so guess that you guys had better start preparing for a long hard cold spell.
