This may seem like a silly question but I'm really not sure. If you book an AI package on a double occupancy rate, do both people have to be flying from the same city? Still waiting for my daughter's decision on whether she will be travelling with me and not sure whether she'll be flying out of Vancouver or Florida. Also, can I book and pay for my package and get a double accommodation rate or do we have to book and pay together? Or, if I can get my sister to go, can she take a package deal from Toronto, and I go from Vancouver, and when we get to the resort, we book in together? I hope this question makes sense -it's early and I need more coffee.

Makes perfect sense to me. I would think and am not an agent here. but if you book double as long as there is someone coming in with you, it should be ok. I don't think that they necessarily need to be on the same plane. We have booked with the hubbies brother etc and they come in from BC and we come in from SK. Check with your agent or company that you are booking through. I would think that if you and your daughter are staying in the room together that would do it.

So, maybe I should just go ahead and book my trip now and figure out who's joining me later. Worst case scenario, I end up going alone and just pay the single supplement upon arrival. I think I'll walk over to Flight Centre at the mall today and check it out. I'm just dying to have that ticket in my hand and make it real!

Hey Rusty- from experience if you get your travel agent to talk to Customer Service, the Tour Operators will give you a price for each of you based on your departure city in dbl occupancy...I used to have groups from all over that did the same thing- one room shared from a Vancouver and Toronto party etc. They have to just request the rate from the wholesaler (ie: Sunquest, Signature, Air Canada Vacations, etc)...what might screw it up is departure dates but it's worth a try!

Thanks, Andy, but from the west coast of Canada it's cheaper to book an all-inclusive package deal that it is to book a flight by itself. Just waiting for confirmation on whether there's two of us or three of us going (DD is inviting one of her friends), and we should be booking this week. I'm so looking forward to getting my "How many Sleeps" timer going!!
