Hi Everyone. Now that spring has finally come to Canda, well for the most part, I thought I would start a Spring topic section. This could be used for plants, gardening etc. Tell us about your yard, post some photos. or just use this for sharing gardening tips. I know it doesn't replace the beautiful gardens or well kept resorts of the Dominican, but maybe we can have some fun! Also, if you have some good gardening sites please share them with us.

For me, the best thing to do with gardening is to enjoy someone else's work by admiring the beauty.

lol Spanks, that is just what I thought you might say. And trust me we need folks to admire what we do in the gardens. ;D

sounds wonderful Coll. I am looking forward to seeing it. I will post some here as well. I was so pissed off the other day. We hired lawn care guys to come in and do the aerating etc. Usually we do all the spring stuff our selves but this year we decided to get it done professionally as we had not done the aerating etc for a couple years. We usually power rake but they were supposed to do this. Welll let me tell you my once beautiful lawn now looks like it has been raped and pillages. bare spots uneven cutting etc. WHAT A MESS. I left it after the rain to see if it was going to come back and all I can say is that when I go to see this idiot today. He better give me my money back!!!

Well, after our holiday in Breezes POP, Lyle has decided to build a rock faced patio similar to the one at the hotel. Lot of work, he has been at it since February. Starting to take shape, most of the rocks are in place, the old pool has been torn down. Would love to have an inground one to take its' place! I know, I am dreaming... Think I would like him to continue doing the whole side yard. Much nicer not having to cut a lot of grass (we have 2 acres of property in total) to mow and I hate that GD gas mower more than ever!
Also plans to have our own little beach bar area. Nice sheltered place to have dinner parties etc. Lots to do, so little time, so little $. Back to dreaming..!

Mommacat, can't wait to see pix when it's done! We're renovating a patio to look like Mexico so we can sit out there and dream (although the whole blueprint might change when I get back from Sosua!) LOL Coppersun, kinda like getting a bad haircut - you just have to live with it til it grows back in. ;D

Well he has added a few more rocks. That is about it. Being that it is the Queen's birthday this weekend there are plans to get a bit more accomplished. Weather is not expected to be great, grey again. Why does the sun shine when I am work only? DR looks better everyday. Good news is that I am hoping to see Karen while she is up here. Hopefully, she will bring some of that sun with her. Even the DR liquid version would be great!
Have a great weekend all!

Well, looks like I'm joining the Canadian Spring Fling. Went to Chilliwack to visit the inlaws today (a belated Mothers Day celebration because hubby worked straight through last weekend) and they filled my car with a rose bush, a large container of Lily of the Valley and an overflowing container of "Chicks 'n Hens" which are so overcrowded they need to be replanted right away! So the plan is if tomorrow is rainy, I'll be renovating the covered patios and if it's sunny I'll be working in the gardens, which means picking out all the rocks (I said I wanted some river rocks for landscaping so my hubby filled all my gardens with them - over top of all the flowers I planted last year!!) Not looking forward to moving all those rocks because I'm suffering from a lot of wrist pain (too much painting) but I know all those flowers are suffocating under the rocks and I have to save them! I can hear them screaming to get out!!
