Hi... I've read about the peso and US dollars but haven't read anything about credit card use. I realize that you need to be careful due to credit card fraud. But does places like Patrick's Silversmith accept Visa/MC??

Places like Patricks DO take Visa BUT it costs them a lot to do so- if you use cash, you get 20% off because of that! That's a great discount, so what my Mom and friend Susan do is go to Banco Popular with their credit card and Passport, and got a cash advance. There are also bank machines all over, and you should be able to set up your credit card to use it in debit (ATM) machines as well.
Also when booking tours you can use a credit card but again, they add something like 12% to your bill- maybe Linda from Mel Tours can answer this one, too.

;DThanks for the info Colleen. I think I'll just bring cash then. Visa dings you big time if you take a cash advance via ATMs.
