We got back to Thunder Bay, ON, late last night. A few inches of snow but still very mild for this time of year. We had an awesome time at Casa Marina Reef & Beach resort in Sosua.
It was great to finally meet the Checkpoint gang in person. Thanks for the warm welcome! Colleen & Mark are the perfect hosts, great sources of info., and we thoroughly enjoyed our visits to Checkpoint.
Colleen's famous bacon cheeseburgers on Tuesdays and Thursdays are "A euphoric eating experience!" The Presidente beer is always cold and refreshing. .
Thanks also to Linda at Mel' Tours. We booked tours to Santiago/Jarabacoa and Paradise Island with her. She's a real gem, another great person with tons of tips and information - where to shop, eat, get money exchanged, what to expect on the various excursions, etc. You are the best, Linda, keep smiling!
Cheers to the new friends we've made there. We hope to be back again soon. We will have our pictures on webshots in the next couple of weeks. Took about 600 photos! Will let you know when they're uploaded. I'm working on a review of Casa Marina Reef & Beach resort and our tours for Debbie's Dominican Travel site and will post here when it's up.
It's sad being back, but now we have to work our butts off and save $ so we can come back in the spring. I'll be back here soon with some updates and stuff. Feliz ano nuevo, everyone!
