I love Christmas in the Dominican. Nothing compares to a holiday decorated palm tree! The resorts have traditional Christmas trees and decorations, too. We saw some shops and homes decorated, but not extravagantly with hundreds of outdoor lights like here. Did see a number of outdoor nativity scenes, though. I am so looking forward to spending my first New Year's Eve there.

Christmas in the Dominican Republic is a Family Event, too. I am looking forward to Christmas. I just started to do my Christmas shopping. I found loads of decorations for my apartment and presents for my friends here. My Mom sent me a parcel with Gingerbread. Mmmhhh.. ..yammy...smells like Christmas at home.

This will be our first Christmas in DR and believe it or not Colleen, we are both looking forward to it ---------- despite the fact that in previous years [and my taunting of you you recently] my reaction to christmas was always "BAH HUMBUG". Looking forward to the traditional roast dinner [with a very generous helping of roast potatoes] and the pleasure of the company of our dearest friends.

When we did christmas in Sosua we got a huge tropical flower arrangment for our room and used it as our pseudo xmas tree. Place the gifts and stockings around. Good thing the Playero is open late as my son was not happy that there was cookies for santa and no carrots for Rudolf and his pals. So off I went to fetch carrots too. We spent the day at the beach and enjoyed a beautiful meal and sunset and the Waterfront.

We have a tree that we'll decorate and a set of lights for one of our bushes outside our door. We will also decorate at Checkpoint and post picks when that is done. Christmas here is awesome. New Year's is a blast- we will likely start at Checkpoint and then go to Rubi's Lounge...not sure what the plan is quite yet.....

Oh Copper That is what a motoconcho is for. Just fall off the left side so you don't end up with a Dominican tattoo.
