Just read on Eddy's sport bar site that he's having a Grey Cup party tomorrow. I'm just wondering if some of the Checkpoint crowd will be going there. Maybe you can drag some Americans to the game and show them that football can actually be fast paced with lots of excitement.

Grey Cup is the final of the CFL season...the Canadian version of SuperBowl (surely you've heard of that???)
CFL= Canadian Football League
The BC Lions, our team from Vancouver is in the final....

Spanky, Can. football has all the equipment on the players so they can play smashball with each other. The game doesn't hold a candle to rugby but it is still very popular here. I watched England finally win a game yesterday after 7 straight losses. Just count your blessings that you have rugby, not football, over there: more bang for your buck. A 60 minute football game takes about 3 hours to play and there is actually only about 10 minutes of action whereas rugby goes for 80 minutes, the game is over in 90 and the play is almost non-stop. Any way the Grey Cup is Canada's grand national drunk and that will never change.Have fun today Eddy's, you lucky people in Sosua.

Well what a great day today!!!! Yesterday our Saskatchewan Roughriders kicked some serious butt. ( (_._) < this is me mooning all your BC Lions fans!)

GO BIG GREEN MACHINE!! I was at the game yesterday, and it was GREAT. My Riders are now heading to the Grey Cup. My poor husband, the BC Lions fan, lost the bet and had to wear home my Green Scarf and wave my Rider Flag all the way home! hehehehe I'm going to have a Grey Cup party at my place...complete with Green & White appetizers!  I sure hope they beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers! |
