Lois!!!!!!!!!!!!! girl where ya been, missin you lots, opps sorry becks this is kinda your thread, however Lois is one of the best!!! Casa doesn't supply hairdryers, but they do have a grea salon on site and there is a good one just down the street about half a block, that does manicure, pedicures, and wonderful massages for very little pesos.
In the big playero, ( grocery store) just up the street from the Checkpoint there is an ATM machine which you can take out 5000 pesos at a time, BUTTTTTT you can use your card as many times as you want, example we usually take out 20000 pecos per week and we do it all one day. this machine is honest and is easy to use, just like any normal machine. It will take bank cards, mastercard, visa's the rate is really good. But as Lois says the money exhanger beside the checkpoint was really good and he is very honest and gives the going rate for exchange. DO NOT CHANGE MONEY from the guys on the street as you will probaly end up with counterfiet. They are persistant but avoid them at all costs. Same with the guys on the Beach, there is also a Popular - which is a bank right in Sosua and there is also a bank of Nova Scotia just down the street from the big playero.
Lois I will call you really soon.
love ya

Hiya Becks, for the long flight I have heard that vodka helps!!!! ;D not that I would know or anything lol
This time of the year it is usually pretty slow on here, folks away and the kids out of school etc. but its always nice to chat with a DR virgin opps I er mean someone who is going for the first time. The DR is a place where you either will love it or hate it. But let me tell you the beaches, the booze and Casa Marina are some of the best!!

Occassionally you might find Ginger Ale on the resort, but usually no. The only bar that we found Brandy at was the Marlin Bar which is cash bar and open after the free bars close. The best thing to do is go to one of the grocery stores and get your Ginger Ale and then make a trip to the Super Super ( which is just up the street from the Reef side main enterance) liquor store to buy your Brandy. the booze is really cheap.
Just ask any person on the street and they will direct you to the Liqor store. also If you find the big Playero ( the big grocery store) they have brandy there and a nice selection of other liquors. Just in case you can't find the Super Super.

Hi Keith and the Beck Family:
Just wanted to wish you all a great trip. Just relax, enjoy and hopefully you will go home with the same opinion of the Dominican that most of the people on this forum have. Take care and please let us know when you get back how your trip was.
