Hi My hubby and I will be arriving at Casa Marina on the 1st October to 14th. And can,t wait.
We have 2 extra suitcases full of school supplies ready to donate :~) 59 sleeps to go but whos counting......

Hi there,

Weather should be good. But you never know.
The weather is completely messed up in the world.
Floodings, storms, heat, cold etc.. at places where it never has been in such huge amounts.
It's summer around here in the netherlands but it almost looks like it is autum .
I will stay a little inland. I stayed at casa marina beach which is next to the reef in november 2006. It's a pretty nice resort.
Especially for the little Ryan.

Hope i can meet you at checkpoint.
Don't know how it will go whan i'm back in Sosua but if you see Coleen at the checkpoint or clive (spanky) karen. You can leave a note. They know me. I will arrive somewhere in the late afternoon at puerto plata airport on the 25 of october.

Nice to hear that you guys come over with the family.
It's a great place to see.
Try to book your tours outside of the resorts at Mel tours for example. It's a little cheaper.

Hi guys,
I totally agree rembrandt. The DR is a wonderful place and you will LOVVEEE the Casa Marina! It probably one of the best resorts going. It is also right in Sosua and there is lots to see in Sosua, one of them of course is the Checkpoint Bar! so friendly and if you need information you can get it there! I would also recommend that if you are wanting to go on any trips off the resort to book through Linda at Mels tours which is right beside the Checkpoint Bar. The prices are the best and Linda is wonderful to deal with! Make sure it is the Mels Tours beside the Checkpoint, As there are two others, one right outside the front gates of the Casa Marina Beach resort. But we have found that Linda service is the absolute BEST!
If you have any other questions about the Casa just ask and one of us may be able to help you as there are some real experts on the Casa Marina resorts, right Mizzpiggy!!!! ;D

Can anybody tell me, I've heard that there is renovations going on the Casa Marina!! Is this true??

Hi,

I've heard that too.
I you read the article on www.sosuanews.com and search for renovation there is a little story about it that they will renovate all rooms with the deadline at the end of 2008.
Tourist will not notice the renovation work.
So I guess you don't have any trouble with it. And i don't think they will do most off the work in winter time because it's high season so most of the work will be done (in my way of seeing it) in the summer when it's low season.
