Hi to All Our Dominican Friends (and of course, our Canadian Friends): Just wanted to wish everyone love, laughter and joy. It has been a hard year for some of us, but with having friends on this forum, it really helps people get through the problems and troubles they encounter. Please check out the website below, it might just put a smile on your face. The two good looking elves are our beautiful Yorkshire Terriers. Can't wait until we see everyone in February. Thanks Coppersun2001 for keeping this forum going. You are a gem. See you in February. www.elfyourself.com/?id=1183208659

Can I just ask a question regarding Christmas? Have the majority of you decorated for Christmas yet (she asks with only 16 days to the big day)? I put the wreath on the front door and decorated three cats( my two and the neighbors') lol
For those of you in Sosua, how are the decorations there? I was there one year for the holidays and the decorations were so nice. I would really love to be there for the holidays this year.

We would like to add our best wishes for Xmas and the New Year to all and everyone. And may we take a little time to rmember those in the world less fortunate than ourselves- making many of our perceived problems insignificant. Some photos from Saman village taken yesterday - Childrens Xmas party - we were priviledged to be guests. 40 pounds of rice and beans + chicken And those who make it all happen: Memories for the children to be handed out with presents after they have all eaten: A view of the recently constructed school- Teachers supplies for ALL the pupils ! And the best is that these children are HAPPY

Well, it is officially Christmas day and i just wanted to add to my previous post. I have imbibed in some Christmas cheer throughout this evening and am feeling a little nostalgic I guess. Coll and mom, know that Dave and I will always be there for you even if we don't touch base all that often, and we love you both so much! Kris and Alf, we love you two more than you know, and miss you so much Spanks and Pam, we echo copper's sentiments as well and am so looking forward to spending time with you in February again. You two are the real thing, so hugs and kisses to you both are in order! And last but certainly not least to lois and family, alanread, and all of the banter friends that we have met or will meet this year, hugs to all. Thanks to all of you for your love as it will certainly pull us through our own crisis this Christmas season as we forge on as a family to live on for another day. We will certainly take a moment later today, to toast those of our own and extended families who are keeping watch from above on all of us today. Peace on earth and good will to your fellow man! We love you all from the bottom of our little hearts, and that is a for sure. Merry Christmas one and all! mp

I have many things to reflect upon, the past 3 1/2 years, my life with mark in Sosua...I am on a new road now, though the path is unclear. I know we will always remain friends and cherich you all!!! So have a wonderful day with you and yours and know that I am thinking of you all. See you in 2008! Love, Colleen

Hi Colleen (Sosua Gal):
You said alot of us have touched your life in many ways, I just wanted to let you know that you have also touched our lives. I am so happy to have met the people that I have at Checkpoint. I am proud to be a member of this forum.
Your dedication to the school children in Sosua is admirable and many children have benefited from your love and support.
Because of you, I met people at Checkpoint and I have made friends on this forum that I also will cherish for a long time. Living so far apart, it is a way of keeping in touch.
Thank you Colleen for being you and know that there are a lot of us that are so glad we had the opportunity to meet you.
Take care of yourself over the holidays, and remember when we think of Sosua, automatically we think of you.
Hoping that we get a chance to see you again in February if you are in Sosua.
God Bless.
Lois, Phil, Scott and Shannon
